I got into hybrid battery work over a decade ago when a friend's Toyota Prius was written off as "uneconomical to replace" by a local dealership. The quote was $4,200. I pulled the battery, tested every module, replaced four failed cells, and had the car running perfectly for $280 in parts.
That experience opened my eyes to how badly hybrid battery service was being delivered — and overpriced — in BC. I spent the next several years getting certified, building my testing equipment, and developing the procedures that now underpin every service we provide.
Today, Alec EV & Hybrid Battery Services has completed over 500 battery replacements and diagnostics in the Okanagan. Our customers drive Priuses, Lexuses, Hondas, Fords, and everything in between. They come to us because we're straight with them — and because our work lasts.
